Chané Neveling remembers her love for slicing things together really started when she was a little kid. She would listen to dance mix cds on her parent’s hifi stereo and record snippets of the tracks onto cassette tapes, making new songs for herself. She recalls nearly always having a video camera with her from the young and creative age of eight and on. When her family immigrated to Canada from South Africa in 2003, she chose to go to Vancouver film school, followed by a film and video production degree at Emily Carr, graduating in 2010. Packing up everything she could fit in a car and moving to Calgary in 2012, not knowing a soul, she reconnected with the electronic music scene there which reignited her love for music and made her pick up her camera again. Now a freelance videographer, video editor, DJ and photographer, her lifelong fascination with music, editing, documentation and visual media has seen Chané build an impressive portfolio, involved in various digital media projects in Calgary and within the electronic music community. Her editing style and videos instantly connect with her audience and her talent for capturing the spirit and fire of the underground scene is undeniable. Next up are ambitions to connect her video work with her own techno and house music production.
